Firmware/Software Engineer Location: Santa Ana, CA
Newport Electronics, Inc. is looking for a Firmware/Software Engineer to develop firmware for innovative instrumentation used for test, measurement, data acquisition, and automation. This engineer will also develop software applications to run on clients and network servers.
Requirements:
- BS and MS in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline is required.
- The position requires thorough programming experience in C, C++, Java, Linux, Embedded Linux, Java-Script, HTML, AJAX, XML, and CSS.
- Software/Firmware development in real-time Embedded Systems including 32-bit controllers.
- It requires solid knowledge of Ethernet networking including: TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, SMTP, SNMP.
- The successful candidate will have an interest and hands-on experience in embedded software, digital and analog circuit design, 802.3 Ethernet networking, and wireless networking including 802.15.4 and/or 802.11.
If you are the successful candidate, you will join a small team of bright and committed firmware, software, and hardware design engineers in Newport’s engineering and manufacturing headquarters in Orange County, CA. You will develop new products working with PC board and mechanical designers, test engineers, technicians, and production personnel. You will immediately have significant responsibility for new products from initial concept to market.
